About the Course

The Certificate Course in Bakery and Confectionery is designed to provide learners with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in baking and confectionery production. The course combines theoretical understanding with hands-on training to help students develop expertise in preparing a variety of bakery products, cakes, pastries, breads, cookies, and confectionery items.

Learners are introduced to essential concepts such as ingredient selection, baking techniques, cake decoration, chocolate work, food safety and hygiene, food production management, and basic entrepreneurship. The program emphasizes skill development through practical sessions under the guidance of experienced professionals.

This course prepares learners for employment opportunities in bakeries, hotels, restaurants, catering establishments, and the hospitality industry. It also equips aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge and confidence to establish and manage their own bakery or confectionery business.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO 1: Develop employability skills required for the bakery, confectionery, hospitality, hotel, and restaurant sectors through a competency-based learning approach.

PSO 2: Gain knowledge of bakery and confectionery production, food safety and hygiene, food service operations, entrepreneurship, and food production management, along with effective communication and management skills.

PSO 3: Enhance career prospects by creating opportunities for employment as well as self-employment in the bakery and confectionery industry.

PSO 4: Receive practical training and industry exposure under the guidance of professional chefs and experienced instructors.

PSO 5: Acquire operational and management skills necessary for successful careers in the bakery and confectionery sector.

“Students must bring their own materials on two days per week. Beginning from the 10th week, the trainee will bear the cost of all ingredients.”
